Proxim ClearConnect™ Technology

Proxim ClearConnect™ is a suite of advanced interference mitigation technologies designed to ensure resilient and dependable communications in high-density wireless deployments. It leverages continuous analysis and automated link tuning to consistently deliver optimal performance.

    Dynamic Data Rate Selection (DDRS)

DDRS facilitates the adaptive adjustment of wireless traffic data rates. Especially crucial in point-to-multipoint networks where Clients vary in their support for different data rates due to varying distances from the Base Station Unit (BSU). WORP® utilizes DDRS to dynamically optimize data rates for individual Clients, thereby maximizing the overall net throughput.

    Flexible Channel Size Support

Flexible channel bandwidths, typically spanning 20, 40, and 80 MHz, are optimized based on available spectrum. Additionally, certain products offer support for smaller channel sizes, such as 5 and 10 MHz.

    Flexible Center Frequency

This feature enables the precise configuration of the operating channel center frequency in 1 MHz increments. It ensures that the radio link utilizes the cleanest spectrum available for improved performance.

    Satellite Density

    Flexible Channel Size Support

Satellite Density settings enhance bandwidth utilization in wireless networks by adjusting receiver sensitivity, particularly beneficial in high-noise environments. Lowering device sensitivity helps filter out unwanted "noise."

    ACS
    (Automatic Channel Selection)

An indispensable installation tool, the automatic channel selection feature works during network boot and allows Proxim’s radios to select the best channel with the least inference.

    DCS
    (Dynamic Channel Selection)

This feature continuously monitors the packet retry percentage in a given radio link. If retries exceed a set threshold, it dynamically searches for a new channel with less interference.

    Adaptive Transmit Power Control (ATPC)

ATPC dynamically adjusts transmit power for each Subscriber Unit (SU) to achieve the desired link signal-to-noise ratio without excessive power or interference. It ensures compliance with local Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) regulations.

    Short Range Optimization (SRO)

SRO, utilized for establishing concise links under 50 meters (150 feet), optimizes radio output power to prevent overload and instability, complementing ATPC for enhanced performance in short-range links.

    Hybrid Automatic Retransmission Request (HARQ)

Proxim radios employ Hybrid ARQ, combining link layer Forward Error Correction and Automatic Retransmission Request (ARQ) mechanisms. This optimized approach selectively retransmits only damaged packets, improving duty cycle utilization and reducing latency in latency-sensitive traffic.

    Weak Subscriber Mitigation (WSM)

WSM applies a "Minimum SNR Offset" filter, allowing subscriber association with the base station only when the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) exceeds a defined threshold. It prevents excessive retransmissions from weak subscribers, preserving overall sector performance in multipoint sectors.

    Spectrum Analyzer

Proxim's Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint products feature an integrated Spectrum Analyzer. This tool provides real-time graphical representations of radiation or RF interference conditions in the available band, enabling manual selection of the best channel for optimal link operation.
